Children’s Foot Assessments
Children can suffer specific foot and lower problems as they grow into adults. These problems range from, for example, knock knees, intoeing (Pigeon toeing), flat feet and heel pain to name a few. A children’s foot assessment begins with a thorough history of pregnancy, birth and development followed by a thorough examination of footwear, gait, posture, bones, joints and muscles to determine whether a specific problem is a normal component of development or something that requires intervention. Simple insoles, orthotics, or often simple footwear advice and exercise management is sometimes required.
